The Altec Lansing LifeJacket 2 released in India last week, as part of a slate of Bluetooth speakers ranging from Rs. 3,600, to Rs. 18,000. Since the launch, we've been using the LifeJacket 2, to try and figure out if it's worth the Rs. 14,000 price tag.
Before talking about the speaker's performance though, it's important to discuss the “everything proof” tag that the company has applied to it. The LifeJacket 2 is rated at IP67 protection, which means it is protected from dust, and capable of withstanding water immersion between 15 cm and 1 meter, for 30 minutes. It's also mountable – there's a small mount included in the box, which allows you to fit the speaker onto your bike and take your music anywhere with you. The speaker is covered in a thick layer of rubber, and further encased in a second rubber slip cover that can't be removed.

Priced at Rs. 3,869, the Internet-enabled feature phone is now available to buy via the company's official store.
Unfortunately, there is still no word on the availability of the single-SIM Nokia 230 phone. Last month, Microsoft had promised that the Nokia 230 (and Nokia 230 Dual SIM) will be launching in India this month. Considering that the Microsoft's official site lists the Nokia 230, we can expect the company to launch the model soon.

Amazon launched the Kindle Paperwhite ebook reader and Kindle Fire HD range of tablets in India recently. Kindle Fire HD, a 7-inch tablet, and Kindle Fire HD 8.9, its 8.9-inch avatar, sport very similar looks, though they differ under the hood. We spent over a week with the smaller sibling and were quite impressed. Read on for the full review.
Build/ Design
Kindle Fire HD is a 7-inch tablet, but seems even smaller when you see it at first. It fits well in your hand, and feels just the right weight as well. The high quality plastic that the tablet is made of gives it a premium finish.
The Kindle Fire HD looks pretty plain from the front, with the screen surrounded by a thick bezel on all four sides. There are no buttons or sensors on the front of the tablet, with only the presence of the camera module at the top breaking the monotony. The tablet market in India seems to be booming and most Indian smartphone makers are eager to get into this lucrative opportunity. Videocon is no different. The company has recently launched its first tablet in the form Videocon VT10.
It comes with a 10-inch screen with a resolution of 1280×800 pixels. The tablet runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) and is powered by a 1.5GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. The smartphone, which was launched Rs. 14,990, will now be available at Rs. 13,990.
As before, the HTC Desire 626 Dual SIM will be in Blue Lagoon and White Birch colour variants with major retailers in the coming weeks. The Taiwanese smartphone maker on Tuesday also dropped the price of the HTC Desire 728 Dual SIM in India, by the same amount – Rs. 1,000. Launched at Rs. 17,990 in January, the Desire 728 Dual SIM is now available at Rs. 16,990.

Dead Among Us Review: Zombie Archery Made in India

Like military shooters, games featuring zombies are a cliche. From survival horror staples like Resident Evil to modern masterpieces like Uncharted, you'll be hard pressed to find a game that doesn't have the undead in one form or another. And at the other end of the spectrum, there's Rolocule. The Pune-based studio has made games like Motion Tennis Cast and Bowling Central. While these two titles cemented its position as one of the better niche developers focusing on motion controlled games on Android and iOS, its latest game Dead Among Us is perhaps its most accessible yet, as you don't need a Chromecast or Apple TV for this one.

Xiaomi unveiled the Redmi 2 and MiPad for the Indian market on Thursday. The two devices offer the typical Mi package – great specifications at affordable prices. While the Xiaomi Redmi 2 is priced at Rs. 6,999, the Xiaomi MiPad tablet will be available in India at Rs. 12,999.
We got some hands on time with the Redmi 2 and Mi Pad at the launch event in New Delhi, and while we'll reserve judgement until our full reviews next week, here are our initial thoughts on the design and some of the software elements.

The growth of the gaming scene in India has led to a massive upsurge in the availability of quality gaming peripherals. One particular segment that has benefited from this is gaming audio. We were fairly impressed with the Dell Venue 7 and Venue 8 which we reviewed almost exactly a year ago. Dell has only just decided to get serious about the Android tablet world, and despite some flaws, the first two Venue models were pretty good for their asking prices. In the time since then, Dell has launched an updated model in India. These were first shown off at Computex 2014, and are currently available in our market.
The big new thing this time is the inclusion of voice calling. A lot of people feel that if you're going to have a SIM card for cellular data, you might as well be able to make and receive voice calls. On the other hand, there's the staggering impracticality of holding a 7-inch tablet up to your face or plugging in a headset every single time the phone rings. You've probably heard of OnePlus. This small smartphone manufacturer from China was founded less than two years ago by a former vice-president of Oppo and set up shop in India late last year. The company uses an innovative invite-based system for distributing limited quantities of its devices while creating hype and a level of demand that far outstrips the supply.
