While the market is flooded with 7-inch tablets, there's still some space for good quality 10-inchers. The Zync Quad 9.7 tablet promises to bring a high resolution 'Retina' display to the Android world at an unbelievable price. But does it deliver on performance and usability? We try to find out.
Design/ Build
From the front, the Zync Quad 9.7 looks roughly similar to the Apple iPad except that there's no hardware button. The front features a 9.7-inch screen surrounded by a black bezel. Interestingly, the iPad also features a 9.7-inch screen. The placement of the front facing camera is a little unconventional – it's located at the top right corner (looking at the tablet in landscape mode).
The tablet has rounded corners and there's a white plastic frame between the front and the back of the tablet. The back of the tablet has a brushed aluminium finish and while we're not sure of the material that it's made of, it does exude a feeling of durabilit..

Gionee on Monday unveiled its new S8 flagship smartphone at MWC in Barcelona, Spain. The company at the event also revealed its brand new logo and tagline that says, “Make Smiles.”
The Gionee S8 has been priced at EUR 449 (approximately Rs. 34,000) and will go on sale by end of March in Rose Gold, Silver, and Gold colours.
The smartphone features 3D Touch (yes, the same name Apple uses) pressure sensitive display, one of the biggest highlights of the smartphone, and is expected to work same as the new iPhone models. The company says that the smartphone can sense 3 levels of force including touch to select an app, tap to preview the content of an app, and press to run the app.
Another notable feature is a loop metal design. The smartphone features a 5.5-inch full-HD Amoled display with narrow bezels measuring 0.75mm. It is 74.9mm wide, and the Chinese company says that is one of the narrowest widths for a 5.5-inch phone. Gionee adds that the display thickness in the S8 smartphone is jus..

Lenovo Yoga Tablet 10 2024

September 3, 2017 Richard Gomez 0

After forging a formidable reputation for itself in the global market with conventional notebooks and tablets, Lenovo has taken a fresh leap into Android tablet segment and has launched two new tablets dubbed the Yoga Tablet 8 and Yoga Tablet 10.

Much like other Yoga devices in Lenovo's line-up, the Yoga Tablet 10 features multimode design and can be used in different 'modes'. The Chinese giant has been touting the Yoga tablets as the company's biggest launch of the year and also hired the Hollywood actor Ashton Kutcher as Lenovo's 'product engineer'. But can the combination of decent hardware, revamped tablet design with sleek form factor and a Hollywood actor make this the turnaround vehicle for Lenovo's tablet segment in India? We try to find out in our review.
Design/ Build
We have always been fascinated by new form factors in devices. Which is why we were so interested in reviewing the Lenovo Yoga tablet.

The Indian tablet market seems to be growing at a rapid pace. As per a recent report by Cyber Media Research, there were about 3.11 million tablets sold in India in the year 2012 and the research company is quite bullish about expectations for this year.
The category that is seeing the maximum number of launches in the recent past is the Android Jelly Bean tablets under Rs. 10,000. Pantel Technologies, which manufactures tablets under the Penta T-Pad branding, have also launched their T-Pad WS707C in the Indian market for Rs. 7,999. So will this tablet stand out from the clutter? We find out in this review.
Build and Design
The Penta T-Pad WS707C sports a 7-inch (1024×600 pixels) capacitive touch screen display. The screen with a broad black bezel takes up most of the front. There is only an earpiece on the right bezel (while holding the tablet in landscape mode), while the front camera is on the top left corner. On the top panel are the volume rocker keys and the power/ standby button..

Home | Mobiles | Mobiles News Nokia Smartphone With All-Metal Body Leaked in Images by Robin Sinha , 22 January 2016 Few images showing an all-metal Nokia smartphone has popped up on the Web, making it one of the devices the company might launch this year. It is worth mentioning that the non-compete clause in the Microsoft-Nokia buyout prevents the Finnish tech firm from releasing smartphones under the Nokia brand ended on December 31, 2015.
To note however, Nokia executives have previously confirmed that the terms of the agreement stipulate that Q4 2016 is the soonest Nokia can release a smartphone – indicating the non-compete clause was extended without public announcement.
Nokia CEO Rajeev Suri had in July last year confirmed the company's plans to re-enter the mobile market, and said it will sign an agreement with a manufacturer which will be responsible for manufacturing, distribution, and sales of its smartphones. The Finnish company followed the same strategy with the N1 ..

Asus Fonepad 7 2024 review

August 22, 2017 Richard Gomez 0

In spite of all the scorn poured out on tablets with voice-calling support, they are the rage in India, with all major manufacturers trying to grab a slice of the market. The domestic voice-calling tablet segment is growing with a number of launches from both Indian and international manufacturers such as Samsung, Micromax, Lava, Lenovo, and Karbonn.
One of the latest voice-calling tablets is the Asus Fonepad 7. The Fonepad 7 is the refreshed version of the original Fonepad tablet that was launched in February at MWC this year. Much like the original Fonepad, the new Fonepad 7 comes with an Intel processor, supports voice-calling and in addition, it comes with upgraded specifications. But, can it do enough to unseat some very high profile competition? We take a look.
Design/ Build

The Asus Fonepad 7 tablet comes with same design as that of the original Fonepad, exuding a feeling of durability. However, we were a bit disappointed that the Taiwanese maker chose an all-plastic body for ..

The tablet market in India seems to be growing by leaps and bounds. The Taiwanese tablet maker Asus is now trying to get a slice of this pie with the launch of the Asus MeMO Pad ME172V. This is the first sub Rs. 10,000 tablet that the company has launched. It is a 7-inch tablet that runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). It is powered by a 1GHz VIA WM8950 processor. The company is targeting to capture 15 per cent market share in the country banking on this tablet.
It is noteworthy, that Asus is known more for its popular Nexus 7 tablet that the company has launched in the global markets in conjunction with Google.
In the recent past, we have seen Indian brands such as Videocon, Lava and international brands like Acer and Swipe launch their Jelly Bean tablets too under the price bracket of Rs.10,000. So is Asus MeMO Pad ME172V a compelling challenger in this category? We find out in this review.

Lenovo Vibe X3 Review [year]

Lenovo Vibe X3 Review 2024

February 9, 2016 Richard Gomez 8

Lenovo has been on a bit of a spree, launching a number of new smartphones in quick succession. The company is good at creating models that cater to specific needs, such as the Vibe P1 (Review | Pictures) with its oversized battery, the Vibe Shot (Review | Pictures) for camera lovers, the Vibe S1 (Review | Pictures) for those who care most about looks, and most recently, the Vibe K4 Note for the budget segment. We now have with us the brand new Vibe X3, which takes its place at the top of the heap as Lenovo's latest flagship.
The Lenovo Vibe X3 costs just Rs. 19,999 but packs a number of features and attributes that might make it a competitor to phones that cost way more. The spec sheet alone would give us quite a bit to dig our teeth into, but Lenovo has also tossed in a few things that it says improve the user experience in less tangible ways. We'll have to dig deep to find out if that's just a marketing line or if the Vibe X3 really does blow all its competition away…

Micromax Canvas Tab P650 [year] review

Micromax Canvas Tab P650 2024 review

August 23, 2017 Richard Gomez 0

One of the most remarkable trends in the Indian tablet industry over the past year has been the rise of the budget segment of tablets. Micromax is one of the major players in this segment, and can take credit for kick-starting the demand with its Funbook tablet, which claimed to combine entertainment with education.
Micromax's Canvas Tab P650 is a tablet with 8-inch display, a segment which has been dominated by Apple and Samsung for quite some time now. But can the Micromax Canvas Tab, the company's first 8-inch tablet and also the first flagship tablet in the Canvas series, repeat the success of the first Funbook, and get ahead of the competition? We try to find out in our review.

Design/ Build
The Micromax Canvas Tab is built along the lines of Micromax's high-end smartphones, like the Canvas Doodle 2. On first look, the Canvas Tab looks like a stretched out or bigger version of the Funbook tablet. However, that is only the case for the front panel of the tablet.
