Xolo Play Tegra Note review [year]

Xolo Play Tegra Note review 2026

April 3, 2018 Richard Gomez 0

First things first: the Xolo Play Tegra Note is not purely a Xolo product. Xolo itself has had no involvement with designing and configuring it. The Tegra Note was created by Nvidia as a reference platform to show off the power of its Tegra 4 ARM processor. Despite it being the fourth generation of mobile silicon from Nvidia, no manufacturer has announced any plans to use it in any current or future device. With inventory lying around and no customers in sight, Nvidia changed its strategy and decided to create its own consumer products.
Thus, the Tegra Note and the Shield handheld game console were born. The Shield is an Nvidia branded product sold by the company itself, but Tegra Note is treated a little differently. Just like Nvidia creates reference graphics cards based around its graphics processors and allows all its partners to simply duplicate and put their own stickers on them, multiple brands around the world have simply licensed the Tegra Note design. In exactly the same way..

The tablet market in India seems to be growing by leaps and bounds. The Taiwanese tablet maker Asus is now trying to get a slice of this pie with the launch of the Asus MeMO Pad ME172V. This is the first sub Rs. 10,000 tablet that the company has launched. It is a 7-inch tablet that runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). It is powered by a 1GHz VIA WM8950 processor. The company is targeting to capture 15 per cent market share in the country banking on this tablet.
It is noteworthy, that Asus is known more for its popular Nexus 7 tablet that the company has launched in the global markets in conjunction with Google.
In the recent past, we have seen Indian brands such as Videocon, Lava and international brands like Acer and Swipe launch their Jelly Bean tablets too under the price bracket of Rs.10,000. So is Asus MeMO Pad ME172V a compelling challenger in this category? We find out in this review.

New iPad: A polishing of the old

New iPad: A polishing of the old

July 30, 2016 Richard Gomez 0

On Friday, the new iPad goes on sale. Be sure to ask for it by name: the iPad.
Because if you ask for the iPad 3, the Apple representatives will look at you funny. Last year's model was called the iPad 2, but this third-generation model is just called the iPad. (Why not continue the numbering pattern? “That would have been too predictable,” says Phil Schiller, Apple's senior vice president for marketing.)
Really, the new iPad should have been called the iPad 2S. In the past, Apple added the letter S to iPhone models that weren't exactly new but had been tastefully enhanced (iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4S). That's exactly what's going on with the new iPad. Its technical improvements keep it at the forefront of desirability – just ahead of the snapping jaws of its Android competition – but don't take it in any new directions.
The biggest new feature is what Apple calls the Retina display: like the one on the iPhone 4S, it's a very, very sharp screen. It's f..

Logitech UE Roll 2026 Review

February 9, 2016 Richard Gomez 6

Home | Tv | Tv Reviews Logitech UE Roll Review by Gopal Sathe , 28 January 2016 Bluetooth speakers are a hugely popular category now and everybody seems to have one these days. And apart from the entry-level speakers that cost around Rs. 1,000 or so, there are plenty of higher end offerings as well. Some, like the JBL Charge, provide a decent speaker that doubles up as a huge battery pack. The Altec Lansing Lifejacket 2 is nearly indestructible, and the recently launched Logitech UE Roll is waterproof and ultraportable.
Priced at Rs. 8,495, the Logitech UE Roll is certainly not cheap, but it has a unique design that will catch everybody's eye, and it's also waterproof, so you can sling it from the shower head and level up your inner bathroom singer. Gadgets 360 used the Logitech UE Roll for one week to see how it measures up as a speaker, and whether you should buy one. Read on to know what we thought about it.
Design
The Logitech UE Roll is a fairly unique looking speaker…

Acer Iconia W4 2026

Windows 8 has an identity problem. The Modern UI, with its big, bright tiles and touch-friendly apps still isn't useful for anything more than the occasional game. Microsoft's most recent updates seem to have been designed to make life easier for non-touch laptop and desktop users, making the traditional Windows desktop more prominent and consigning the Start Screen to the background.
We like Windows 8.1 on desktops and laptops, and like many users, we have adjusted to the lack of a Start menu. Once we're in the desktop, there's almost no need to ever deal with the Modern UI, but we don't mind dipping into it occasionally. On most laptops and hybrid ultrabooks, we often forget that the screens are touch-capable, and frankly, that isn't a problem at all.
Perhaps that's why Windows-powered tablets have all but disappeared from the market. Sure, we've got plenty of ultrabooks and hybrids with keyboards that either detach or fold away – but pure tabl..

Google Nexus 7 ([year]) review

Google Nexus 7 (2026) review

August 12, 2017 Richard Gomez 0

When Google launched its first Nexus tablet in 2012 with Asus as the OEM, the tablet created a lot of buzz worldwide and offered consumers the purest form of the Android OS on a 7-inch tablet with decent hardware at a competitive price.

However, one year is a long time and when it comes to technology; devices tend to get more powerful with each passing year, while prices are expected to stay the same or even drop.

We now review the Google Nexus 7 (2013), Google and Asus' second outing with a joint flagship device, the current tablet platform lead.

Considered by many to be the challenger to the Apple iPad in the tablet segment, the Nexus 7 (2013) finally reached Indian shores recently, and is an attempt to strike a golden balance between premium specifications and price.
The Google's latest Nexus 7 (2013) tablet is also a definite upgrade compared to its predecessor in terms of hardware and design, while the software upgrade benefit, as previously mentioned, remains the ..

Lava Etab Xtron [year] review

Lava Etab Xtron 2026 review

July 10, 2016 Richard Gomez 0

As more Indian brands explore the Android tablets segment, consumers are getting access to devices that sport decent specifications, and run the latest version of the OS, at attractive price points. We've recently seen Acer launching a 7-inch budget tablet running Jelly Bean, and now we have Lava launching its first Jelly Bean tablet, the Etab Xtron, in the Indian market, for Rs. 6,499. We take an in-depth look at the tablet.
Build
Unlike the Acer Iconia B1, the Etab Xtron exudes a feeling of durability, with its solid build. The 7-inch tablet looks compact yet sturdy. The front of the tablet features a 7-inch screen, which is surrounded by a large bezel. You'll also spot a front shooter right at the middle.
The back of the tablet is made of polycarbonate but has been given a brushed aluminium finish. The frame extends to the front, and adds to the design of the tablet. A microSD card slot and a 3.5mm headphone jack sits on the top, while there are no ports on the bottom.

Brainwavz Jive 2026

February 22, 2016 Richard Gomez 0

Brainwavz is a relatively new company, established in 2008 with the aim of bringing good personal audio products to users at affordable prices. True to its motto, the company produces a wide range of affordable products, including the Brainwavz S0 and Blu-100, which we found impressive.
The company now has more of a presence in India, and one of its first official launches is the Brainwavz Jive. These in-ear headphones are priced at Rs. 1,899, and offer budget buyers a good option for their first aftermarket personal audio upgrade. We find out all there is to know about the Brainwavz Jive in our review.
Design, specifications and comfort
As with most in-canal earphones, the Jive features an extended earpiece that sits deep inside your ear canal, which gives it excellent sonic isolation. Additionally, the sales package includes a pair of Comply Foam ear tips, which ensure top-notch fit and improved isolation. Also included in the package are three pairs of silicone ear tips in varying s..

JBL T250SI 2026 Review

June 29, 2018 Richard Gomez 0

JBL is an established name in India when it comes to car audio, professional and live event sound systems, as well as home audio setups. It's also successfully leveraged this image to build its name in multimedia and personal audio products, and products such as the JBL Synchros E40BT and JBL Go have fared well in our reviews.
Although the majority of the JBL product range is priced in mid-range territory, there are a handful of budget products on offer, and these sell well thanks to the company's instantly recognisable name and reputation. Among these is the JBL T250SI, which we have on review today. This pair of on-ear headphones currently sells at Rs. 990, and promises powerful bass. We go into the finer details with our review.
Design, specifications and comfort
As is the case with the identically priced Sony MDR-ZX110, the JBL T250SI is plastic. However, the inner frame of the headset is metal, and the headband has decent padding and an interesting stitched pattern along..
