First things first: the Xolo Play Tegra Note is not purely a Xolo product. Xolo itself has had no involvement with designing and configuring it. The Tegra Note was created by Nvidia as a reference platform to show off the power of its Tegra 4 ARM processor. Despite it being the fourth generation of mobile silicon from Nvidia, no manufacturer has announced any plans to use it in any current or future device. With inventory lying around and no customers in sight, Nvidia changed its strategy and decided to create its own consumer products.
Thus, the Tegra Note and the Shield handheld game console were born. The Shield is an Nvidia branded product sold by the company itself, but Tegra Note is treated a little differently. The tablet market in India seems to be growing by leaps and bounds. The Taiwanese tablet maker Asus is now trying to get a slice of this pie with the launch of the Asus MeMO Pad ME172V. This is the first sub Rs. 10,000 tablet that the company has launched. It is a 7-inch tablet that runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). It is powered by a 1GHz VIA WM8950 processor. The company is targeting to capture 15 per cent market share in the country banking on this tablet.
It is noteworthy, that Asus is known more for its popular Nexus 7 tablet that the company has launched in the global markets in conjunction with Google.

Windows 8 has an identity problem. The Modern UI, with its big, bright tiles and touch-friendly apps still isn't useful for anything more than the occasional game. Microsoft's most recent updates seem to have been designed to make life easier for non-touch laptop and desktop users, making the traditional Windows desktop more prominent and consigning the Start Screen to the background.
We like Windows 8.1 on desktops and laptops, and like many users, we have adjusted to the lack of a Start menu. Once we're in the desktop, there's almost no need to ever deal with the Modern UI, but we don't mind dipping into it occasionally. On most laptops and hybrid ultrabooks, we often forget that the screens are touch-capable, and frankly, that isn't a problem at all.

We've recently seen Acer launching a 7-inch budget tablet running Jelly Bean, and now we have Lava launching its first Jelly Bean tablet, the Etab Xtron, in the Indian market, for Rs. 6,499. We take an in-depth look at the tablet.
Build
Unlike the Acer Iconia B1, the Etab Xtron exudes a feeling of durability, with its solid build. The 7-inch tablet looks compact yet sturdy. The front of the tablet features a 7-inch screen, which is surrounded by a large bezel. You'll also spot a front shooter right at the middle.
The back of the tablet is made of polycarbonate but has been given a brushed aluminium finish. The frame extends to the front, and adds to the design of the tablet. A microSD card slot and a 3.5mm headphone jack sits on the top, while there are no ports on the bottom.

Brainwavz is a relatively new company, established in 2008 with the aim of bringing good personal audio products to users at affordable prices. True to its motto, the company produces a wide range of affordable products, including the Brainwavz S0 and Blu-100, which we found impressive.

These in-ear headphones are priced at Rs. 1,899, and offer budget buyers a good option for their first aftermarket personal audio upgrade. JBL is an established name in India when it comes to car audio, professional and live event sound systems, as well as home audio setups. It's also successfully leveraged this image to build its name in multimedia and personal audio products, and products such as the JBL Synchros E40BT and JBL Go have fared well in our reviews.
Although the majority of the JBL product range is priced in mid-range territory, there are a handful of budget products on offer, and these sell well thanks to the company's instantly recognisable name and reputation.
