While computers learned to outclass humans at checkers and chess in the '90s, Go – a 2,500-year-old game – was still vexing computer scientists. Because the game offers players a nearly infinite number of moves – and is difficult to score in the middle of a match – it has proved to be the most difficult of classic games to teach computers to play.
But that all changed last week as Google's researchers brought a fresh approach and wealth of computing power to findings published in the scientific journal Nature.

Now, with personal-computer demand in decline and companies flocking to the cloud to run their operations, she's on board with a split taking place next week. The chief executive's biggest job: proving to customers, investors and employees that a smaller, enterprise-focused HP will be faster and more nimble against competitors.

The 72-year-old resident of Victoria, Canada, was on an app one day when it suddenly stopped working, and she was unable to reload the device without providing a password for their Apple ID account.
Bush's husband never told her the password, and she hadn't thought to ask. Unlike so many of the things David had left for Bush in his will – car ownership, the title of the house, basically everything he owned – this digital asset followed him to the grave.
